Neurosis
People who have never suffered from neurosis often cannot understand a sick person's situation. They do not consider neurosis to be a sickness. In order to empathize with the situation of a person suffering from neurosis it is necessary to recall the way our body reacted a few hours before an important exam. People suffering from neurosis feel like that for months or even years.
Neuroses consist a group of psychogenic disorders, mainly emotional, which manifest themselves with the feeling of anxiety and unpleasant mental and/or physical ailments, such as feelings of pain, constriction and/or quivering. Depending on the intensification of these symptoms neurosis may cause more or less severe misadaptation to existing in a society.
Neurosis should not be identified or compared with psychoses, such as schizophrenia or paranoid syndrome which are completely different sicknesses. A psychotherapy, which aims at teaching a sick person to cope with anxiety, is the basic method of treating neurosis.
Herbs, such as the root of valerian, the leaf of passion flower and/or hops, are also helpful because they reduce the activity of some brain centres, suppress overreactions and/or lessen harmful exogenous stimuli. All these herbal ingredients are present in the capsules of Nerwobon, a preparation which soothes emotional disorders, anxiety and hyperexcitability.
Using this preparation may also affect the need to administer synthetic sedatives. However, it is necessary to remember that a decision to discontinue taking a synthetic drug should be consulted with a doctor responsible for the treatment.
